Choosing equipment carefully
There is no one perfect radio for every amateur. A beginner may need a reliable VHF/UHF station, while another operator is planning HF, CW or digital amateur television. Check licence privileges, antenna choices, power supplies, interface compatibility and practical support before buying.
Martin Lynch & Sons
Martin Lynch & Sons is an established UK amateur radio retailer. This is an ordinary editorial link to its public website, not a tracked commission link. M3JWK has no confirmed referral or affiliate arrangement with the retailer.
British Amateur Television Club
For digital amateur television and the Portsdown project, the BATC is the specialist club and technical resource. Its engineering wiki and community help explain what is possible and what equipment is needed.
Independence and disclosure
M3JWK aims to give practical, honest technical observations. If a commercial referral agreement is established in future, the relevant links will be identified clearly and recommendations will remain independent.
